Artists and Their Art

I am the first to admit that I have an ecclectic taste in art.

I’ve always loved Van Gogh’s work, his sunflowers and Stary night being my two personal favorites.

I also love several of Cezanne’s, Manet and Monet, Chagall, as well as Renoir’s works.

So one of the things I love about living in France is the occasional opportunity to get to see the actual paintings of the artists I’ve admired and enjoyed for so long.

A couple of years ago I even had the opportunity to visit a tiny little gallery and see one of Andy Warhol’s most famous works – the Campbell Soup Cans.  (I thought it was highly ironic that I had to come to France to see his work, but then, c’est la vie, n’est pas?)

I decided to create this page so I could share these amazing artists, their history, their lives and their work with you.  Not all of the artists are famous (yet) and not all of them are from the past.  I’m also including the work of several artists who live here on the French Riviera now, whose work I admire.

Down below you’ll find links to the pages about the different artists and their art that’s here – or has been exhibited here – in the French Riviera.  As time permits, I’ll be adding to this list, so if you don’t see your favorite artist right now, feel free to leave me a comment and I’ll see what I can do to find his or her work and get their biography up on their own page.
